Sourdough Bacon Guacamole Burger

8 slices Francisco Sourdough bread

8 slices bacon

1 1/2 lb ground beef or turkey

Salt and pepper

4 Swiss cheese slices

Lettuce leaves

1/2 cup guacamole

2 tomatoes, sliced

1/4 red onion, sliced and separated into rings

Makes: 4 Servings
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 6 minutes

Cook bacon until crispy and set aside on paper towels to absorb oil.

Split the ground meat into 4 patties; add salt and pepper to taste.

Cook burgers over medium heat. About 2 to 3 minutes per side for medium-rare. Place cheese slices on top and cook until cheese melts. Move the burgers to a plate while lightly grilling the sourdough slices on both sides until toasted.

Divide lettuce pieces evenly on 4 slices of bread. Top this with a dollop of guacamole, tomato slices, the burger, several rings of red onion and two bacon slices. Top with the remaining sourdough bread. Cut the burgers in half and serve warm.
